Every year Local Newspaper Week gives our supporters a chance to say thank you to the Ross Gazette, but it also gives us an opportunity to say thank you to our loyal readers and advertisers. Without you there would not be a Ross Gazette.

I travel around this country quite often and one of the first things I do when visiting somewhere new, is to search out the local newspaper. I find them a great source of information about the area. They include not just details about events but a sense of what the people in that area are interested in and care about. I believe that anyone looking at a copy of the Ross Gazette for the first time would discover that Ross is full of people willing and able to do good things for the town.

I am among the first to criticise elected officials, such as our Town Councillors, when I don’t agree with them, but I hope I am also among the first to offer praise for what is often a difficult, and don’t forget an unpaid task.

The Gazette is happy and proud to report on their activities along with all the many and varied volunteers in the town. It is also a pleasure to include news from our local schools and other organisations as well as businesses, of which there are many successful ones in the town.
