Slimmers in Ross-on-Wye have raised £400 for Cancer Research UK after they got behind a month-long activity campaign celebrating Slimming World’s 50th golden birthday year.

The Golden Body Magic Challenge invited slimmers to cover 50 miles during the month of August to celebrate their weight-loss success. The group successfully covered 84 miles between them and came together on Sunday, September 1st, 2019 to celebrate their achievements and walk the final two miles together.

Sue Jones, a member of a Slimming World group in Ross, raised an amazing £245 from walking 50 miles during the month.

Weight-loss Consultant Debra Maloney, who runs groups on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Larruperz Centre in Ross, organised the event. She said: I am so proud of Sue, and all my members who set themselves the challenge and achieved it. They really are worth their weight in Gold!”
