Changes, and improvements are on the cards for the Larruperz Community Centre in Ross-on-Wye, as the new year begins.

These plans follow on from previous efforts to improve the building for all users, as well as improving the carbon footprint and significantly cutting the fuel bills.

Work started two years ago to improve the ceiling and insulation in the Paxton Hall. Last year 10 kW solar panel systems were fitted to the building, this project is self financing.

In February 2017 all the lights inside and outside the building are to be replaced with LED and the insulation above the ceiling on the top floor is set to be upgraded.

All this has been made possible by being successful in applying for grants from both the Big Lottery Fund (£10,000) and the Severn Waste Environmental Fund (£8000). All of these projects have been for a minimum capital outlay and allowed the Community Association to provide a first class building for current and all future users of the centre as well as keeping any hiring cost increases as low as possible.
