MADAM, I note that Aldi has renewed their interest in trading in Ross. Aldi has a good track record, confirmed by a recent article in Which Magazine where Aldi were placed very highly for their fresh vegetables and fruit and for their all round performance. Tesco was placed last.

There are premises in Gloucester Road which have been empty for a number of years, I refer to the old Electricity Board Shop, I think this would be a prime site suitable for a Marks and Spencer or an Iceland.

Now to the state of the roads, Old Gloucester Road for example resembles a cart track with pot holes everywhere and there are other roads in the town which need repairing too.

It must be a nightmare for people living in Alton Road and near to the hospital with so many heavy good lorries, tractors and cars. When the road was built it was for horses and carts. Several years ago it was mooted to build a by-pass which would come out in Tudorville, maybe it is time to take another look at this.

Finally a few words about Councillor Andrew Atkinson, this man is a breath of fresh air, Ross could do with more Councillors of his calibre and and vision.
