Local residents and businesses based on and around the A49 between Ross-on-Wye and Harewood End remain united in their current condemnation of Highways England following the start of resurfacing work on Monday, July 22nd.

Highways England Project, Manager Don Haggart, said: “We understand that roadworks cause disruption for those living and working nearby and we have planned this essential maintenance work to minimise the disruption as far as possible.

“Record high temperatures last week forced us to suspend work for a time. However, we are now planning to run both phases simultaneously in order to complete the work as quickly as possible.

“We continue to liaise with local businesses over the scheme and are grateful to the local community for their patience as we carry out these important works.”
