New Start Cat Rescue is desperately searching for new homes for a colony of feral cats which they have recently been able to rescue.
As a small charity they are concerned that they will be inundated, as they are unsure of the true number of cats and kittens they need to help.
Every cat has to be neutered and given blood tests, as well as flea and worm treatments, this means it costs about £100 per cat.
The charity is looking for homes on smallholdings or places where there is a space outside for them to live. But Jackie Bahooshy of New Start Cat Rescue told the Ross Gazette that even cats which live outside can be loved. She said the younger they are the easier it is to tame a feral cat, but every one is different. Some really respond to love and attention.
As well as an appeal for possible homes on the New Start Cat Rescue charity’s Facebook page, “We are looking for good outdoor homes that would be prepared to take on two cats and provide shelter and daily food. Ideally stables small holdings or farms.”
The charity would also really appreciate donations to help meet their mounting vet’s bills and wet cat food is also very much appreciated.
Donations can be left at the Ross Gazette office for delivery to the charity or contact them directly if you can offer a home on 07598 752992.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
