Crew members from Ross-on-Wye's Fire Station raised more than £800 for charity by organising a charity car wash on Saturday, March 14th.

Visitors to the town and local residents could drive through anytime between 10am and 3pm to have crew members wash their car in return for a donation.

A spokesperson for Ross Fire Station said: "Wow! Thank you Ross-on-Wye for being totally awesome and helping us raise an equally awesome £800 from washing your cars.

"What’s even more awesome is that by the time we add the Gift Aid from all you lovely tax payers we’re looking at approximately £1000!"

Domino’s Pizza also provided the team with a free lunch on the day.

The spokesperson continued: "Thank you all so much on behalf of The Fire Fighters Charity and Rocky-Lee’s Little Feet, who rely completely on the generosity of charity to do such amazing work.

"We are incredibly proud to be a part of this wonderful community."
