Marie Curie is appealing for people in Ross-on-Wye to ‘get behind the daffodil’, by volunteering to collect donations for the charity’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal for next February and March.
The charity is looking for volunteers to help with the distribution and return of collection tins and daffodil boxes to shops, restaurants and other venues within the local community.
The role involves approaching possible venues who would support Marie Curie to place collection tins and boxes then counting and banking the money that is raised.
The money raised from the tins and daffodil boxes will help Marie Curie Nurses provide care and support to people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones at home within Herefordshire. This volunteer position is very rewarding and does not need a lot of time. You will be given relevant training and be linked to existing volunteers in the area.
In addition the charity needs volunteers to be take part in street collections or in supermarkets and stores. By sparing a little of your time, you will be doing something extremely worthwhile and supporting the charity to raise donations to support the local nursing service.

Sarah Harris, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie in Ross-on-Wye, said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal is our biggest annual fundraising campaign, making it possible for Marie Curie Nurses to give care and support when people need it most.”
