Ross United under 10s and 12s enjoyed

a weekend away from their fixture list

to visit Cheltenham Town FC for a day

out.After arriving at Whaddon Road, the

group enjoyed a tour of the ground,

finding out about some interesting tactics

employed by Cheltenham to ensure

that they had a better chance of winning

than their rivals. The group then participated

in a 1 hour coaching session, provided

by the Club's coaches, before

heading back to the ground to take their

seats for the relegation scrap with Hereford.

The group enjoyed the first half

which featured goals at either end, three

substitutions, and some horrendous

mistakes from both teams. During halftime,

two under 10s, Rory and Brandon,

and two under 12s, Ollie and

McCauley, were invited onto the pitch

to participate in the half-time crossbar

challenge. They each had two attempts

to hit the crossbar and Ross under 12,

McCauley, succeeded where many others

have failed, prompting the chant of

"Sign him on" from the Cheltenham

end!

The second half started off with

another goal for Cheltenham, but the

equaliser was soon scored from a Hereford

free-kick taken by Sam Hewson.

Although both teams continued to

fight for the winner, the game was eventually

won by another Hewson freekick.

A great day out enjoyed by all,

made more special by the Hereford win.
