IT might have been a few days after April Fool, but a town chippy had people eating out of their hands when a pic of Ant and Dec appeared online behind their takeaway counter.

Many took to social media to comment about the visit by the star duo to Ross—on Wye’s Seven Seas chippy in Broad Street.

But some smelt “something fishy’ and slowly the penny dropped - they were life-size cardboard cut-outs!

Michelle Minnie Hodges posted a photo of staff and the ‘celebs’ last Thursday saying: “Ant and Dec in Seven Seas tonight!”

A woman replied: “They get everywhere them two.”

And a man posted: “I never realised how small they were in real life.”

Another poster responded: “I had Paddy McGuinness and Richard Hammond filming on my driveway one month ago.

“How Caple Classic car rally. I only found out afterwards and they did not bother to ask me if they could.”

But some finally saw through the cut-out prank, one woman saying: “Your coddìng!” while another added: “I've only just clicked that they’re fake.”

“Something fishy going on there,” added one, while another poster said: “Lol, they both look a bit BOARD!”

“Obviously it was the Plaice to be last night,” said one post.
