MADAM, Each May, over 100 volunteers from the community of Ross and the local villages go house to house on behalf of Christian Aid week. Everything is in hand for May 15th-21st. We hope that the residents of our local town and area will be generous, courteous and supportive as money is raised to help relieve the poverty in our world.

Most envelopes will be picked up, but inevitably some will be missed. We are indebted to Gordon and Margaret Lucas for allowing envelopes to be dropped in at their motorcycle shop on Brookend St. If people miss giving then late gifts are still welcome at their shop or at any of the churches. Christian Aid week sees all the churches of our town working closely together with special mention in the services on May 15th. Last year's money saw significant improvements in the living conditions of residents in overcrowded "shanty" suburbs of Nairobi. This year's money will help the people of Nicaragua.

The local committee organises the collection for Ross Town, Bridstow and Wilton, Brampton Abbotts, Peterstow, Walford, Linton, Aston Ingham and Upton Bishop.

There is a Christian Aid Coffee morning at the Friends Meeting House on Saturday 21st May from 10am and all are welcome.
