MADAM, On behalf of the Ross and District Christian Aid Committee, may we pass on to your readers our heartfelt thanks for the generous response that local people made in Christian Aid Week May 13th-19th. The gratifying sum of £7142 has been sent to Christian Aid. Most of all, we thank the local collectors for their hard work. £2628 of the total has been gift aided which will increase substantially our overall giving.

We are indebted to Lucas Motorcycles, G.D. Parker's and the Country Library for allowing envelopes to be dropped off. If people missed giving then late gifts are still welcome.

The house to house collection included Ross Town, Bridstow and Wilton, Brampton Abbotts, Peterstow, Walford, Linton, St Weonards, Aston Ingham and Upton Bishop, There will be a follow up evening at Walford village hall on Wednesday August 8th to which all collectors and supporters are welcome. The evening will include a buffet table of puddings, fruit and cheese. There will be a raffle and competitions. Well done, everyone!
