Dear Editor,

Once again we appeal to the good folk of Ross and the surrounding villages to support Christian Aid week - from May 14th – 20th. Over 100 volunteers from local churches will be calling house to house. We hope that you, the residents, will be generous, courteous and supportive as money is raised to help relieve the poverty in our world. This year the appeal highlights the needs of refugees displaced by war and famine, especially those leaving Syria.

Most envelopes will be picked up by the group of very loyal and hard-working helpers, but inevitably some will be missed. This year there are two local outlets who will receive envelopes: Lucas Motorcycles in Brookend Street, and Wyedean Wholefoods at 8 Gloucester Road.

If people miss giving then late gifts are welcome at these addresses or at any of the churches.

Christian Aid week sees all the churches of the local area working closely together with special prayers in the services on Sunday May 14th.

The local committee organises the collection for Ross Town, Bridstow and Wilton, Brampton Abbotts, Peterstow, Walford, Linton, Lea, Aston Ingham, Upton Bishop and the St Weonards parish.
