MADAM, I would like to thank the staff and supporters of the Cinema at the Phoenix Theatre group for showing such an excellent and varied selection of films.
I regularly attend the screenings with a group of friends and we all particularly enjoyed the film, 'The Skin We Live In', a very dark Spanish horror film. The kind of film where the horror is in the mind of the viewer rather than the explicit style so popular these days.
Other films we have enjoyed recently include 'Gainsbourg' about the 60's musician and style icon Serge Gainsbourg and 'Troll Hunting' the recent Norwegian faux documentary about the Troll problem in rural areas.
We as a group feel it is good to see contemporary foreign films getting an airing in small towns like Ross as at times living in a small town can easily feel like living in a cultural desert.
