Pupils at Ashfield Park School entertained the guests and congregation at the annual Civic Service at St Mary’s Parish Church, Ross-on-Wye on Sunday.

The members of the school choir sang ‘Let the peace of God reign’ after pupil Carla Moser read a verse from St John’s Gospel.

The service, which was led by the Reverend Colin Leggate, also included readings from the Town Clerk, Sarah Robson, and Hazel Russell, Head of Fundraising for Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide, which is the Mayor’s chosen charity for his year in office.

The service followed a procession led by the standard bearers of local organisations and the Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Councillor Harry Bramer. He was accompanied from the Market Place to the church by Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Paul Deneen and Joyce Thomas MBE, his fellow Town Councillors and the invited Mayors and representatives of other towns and organisations.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
