Councillor Andrew Atkinson, who runs a cleaning company in Ross, together with Richard Mayo, a member of the Association of Ross Traders, had often thought the signs around the town looked in need of a good clean.

Knowing that Amey is responsible but realising it has more important priorities Cllr Atkinson approached them to see if he and Richard could clean them voluntarily and help a good cause.

Amey agreed to pay the amount they would have paid to a contractor to clean the signs and this will be donated to Hope Support Services.

Hope helps young people when a member of their family has been diagnosed with a serious illness.
