MADAM, Further to the letter from Becci Cooper last week regarding mobility scooters, I experienced a similar event in Newent last winter, which prompted me to pen the following:
Silent as a white owl's wing,a noiseless battery powered thingcomes haring down the pavement raceat seven miles per hour pace.
The Jackie Stewart of the pave, missing by the closest shaveyoung mother, kids held tight, and startled dogs recoiled in fright.
Deflects across the zebra stripsmid screeching brakes and angry pips;now fading into Newent mistsoblivious to the clenching fists.
But hey, you able bodied folk!Do not complain and do not joke. And when your Lottery dice is tossedPray all maintained and nothing lost.
