A former Goodrich school pupil is making 'comedy' headlines down under. Claire Smith, with her comedy writing partner, Gerry Lear, is enjoying success with their self-penned comedy series. "My character's name is Susan Piggott. She owns Gen Fox Recruitment and Animal Personality Testing. She is one member of an extended, international family who collude together in business. Their aim is to give the Rockerfellas a run for their money, whilst upholding the legacy of Great Uncle William Olderfella the Elder!" Claire grew up in Herefordshire and her family still live in Ross. Her father was the Master of the Ross Harriers and after Goodrich Primary she went to Ross Grammar School and then onto Hereford Art College to study Theatre and Art History. "I knew I wanted to be on the stage from an early age. At 14 I landed a short run in a spin off from TISWAS, as a comedian impersonator - I was hooked, the bug had bitten."
