The Eagle Inn, Ross-on-Wye, commemorated the memory of Ollie Floyd on Friday, October 19th.

Ollie was a member of Ross Rugby Cub who lost his life in 2015 while working at the golf course at the Celtic Manor Hotel.

There was a mural painting of Ollie situated in the function room when the owners purchased the pub, and when they discovered the background to it, they were happy to keep it.

At 7pm, the Eagle Inn officially opened the function room and renamed it after him. Over 100 people including Ollie’s family and friends enjoyed three live music acts and a buffet. Their skittles team also had a match.

A spokesperson for the Eagle Inn told the Ross Gazette: “We would like as many organisations as possible to use the room.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
