ONE young commuter has been left devastated this week after her motorbike, brought brand new less than a month ago, was stolen, in broad day light.
The bike, a grey Yamaha YZF R125, was left securely chained and locked, at the Corn Exchange car park, on Friday evening, November 14th, at around 10.30pm. It was only when she went back to the bike the following afternoon around 1pm did she realise it had been stolen.
Unbeknown to her, at 10.54 that same morning, a passerby observed some men putting a motorbike into the back of a white van and tried to speak the van driver. The police were called, and the van number plate details were passed to them. The police were at the scene within eight minutes.
Unfortunately, by that time the van had left the scene with the bike. The van's number plates were found to have been cloned.
