A local woman contacted the Ross Gazette after she became concerned about a tree, located between Oaklands Court and Vaga Cresent, that she believes has died.
She added that there are two trees next to each other, and one has turned brown and the needles have become limp (picture 1) which is all the more noticeable as it is next to another which is green and full of life (picture 2).
She was concerned that the tree could fall down, and as she parks nearby, she was worried that it would fall on to her car, so she contacted Herefordshire Council to make them aware.
The resident told the Gazette that Balfour Beatty confirmed they had received several reports from concerned local residents, and that they were sending an arborist team to assess the health of the tree.
A spokesperson for Herefordshire Council confirmed: “Herefordshire Council, working in partnership with Balfour Beatty Living Places, can confirm that the tree on Oaklands, Ross-on-Wye, has been inspected and maintenance works were due to begin on Tuesday, August 1st 2017.”
