Residents are concerned that the new footpath being constructed on the A449 will encourage schoolchildren to try and cross the dangerous and busy road.
The footpath, being built adjacent to the A449 and Ledbury Road, near the petrol station, will allow pedestrians to walk to the Starbucks coffee shop.
However many residents have taken to social media to express their concerns that without a safe crossing point, such as a zebra crossing or traffic lights, then pedestrians will have nowhere safe to cross to get to the shops on the other side of the A449.
Parents of John Kyrle High School students are also concerned that children will take shortcuts over the road to get to the fast food outlets.Read the full story in this week's Ross Gazette.
