Councillor Jenny Hyde asked the Ross SNT to take a closer look at the ‘selfish parking’ by some parents collecting children from John Kyrle High School at the end of the school day.
She said there are vehicles causing obstructions, and parking in the areas marked no waiting between certain times. She said: “I was invited to see the situation for myself by the school staff and something needs to be done. The school’s procedures for dealing with pupils leaving school are immaculate but selfish parking is causing problems.”
She asked members of the police to visit the school at the end of the school day and said that this might act as a deterrent.
PCSO Simon Hall told Councillors at the meeting on Monday, May 14th, that he would ask his colleagues about extra patrols and they would also plan to visit the school. He said seeing police patrols did deter selfish parkers and they would try to be there as often as possible.
