From the opening notes of the British Legion March, played by Ross-on-Wye Town Band, to the final words of the National Anthem, the Poppy Concert was a lovely way to start the Remembrance season.

The Standard Bearers paraded into the hall at John Kyrle High School to start the show on Sunday, October 18th.

Despite being billed as a mixed choir of children from different schools it was only young pupils from Goodrich, but they put on a wonderful performance. They sang a selection of songs from World War II as well as some of the songs they sing at school.

All the children, and their teachers, as well as Jenni Axtell and Bridget Snasdell, who worked with them on preparing for the concert, were presented with commemorative medals.
