Last Thursday there were several power cuts reported in the Ross area. These fairly short-term breaks in the electricity supply have been a regular occurrence lately, causing disruption and annoyance to many readers.
When the Ross Gazette reported the latest power cuts the newspaper's Facebook page quickly filled with comments, such as this from Rachel Reid:?"We have a power cut AGAIN in Wye Street getting a joke now."
And Carol Lowndes said:?"It's like living in the dark ages. Well, no it's not, but it's happening far too often."
One reader suggested that it might have been aliens but other possible explanations included the work being carried out by BT Open Reach to install faster broadband or even cable thefts.
Penny Harris said:?"I have never lived anywhere with such an unreliable electricity supply, and that includes 10 miles up a single lane valley in north Wales!! It is not acceptable in this day and age. I have actually taken to carrying my head torch around the house in my pocket!! I hope the councillors are investigating why this is such a regular occurance."
