Details of how local residents can to contact Herefordshire County Council and Ross-on-Wye Town Council needs to be highlighted, said Councillor Richard Mayo.
Anne Taylor, a local resident, asked the Town Council at their meeting on Monday, June 12th about the best way for local residents to find out who is responsible for a certain issue. She said she had tried email but not received a reply and attended a Councillor surgery at Ross Library but no Councillor attended.
The Clerk of the Council apologised for the non-response. She said that the Town Council had recently had vigorous anti-spam software installed and it was possible that emails has not got through.
She reminded everyone that the office is open during the week, and that the Town Council’s contact details, as well as the ways to contact individual Councillors, are on the Town Council’s website at www.rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk.
Ms Taylor pointed out that not everyone has access to the website. Councillor Mayo suggested that a reminder of the telephone numbers and opening hours published in the Ross Gazette would be helpful.
