Councillors at Herefordshire will decide whether three large detached houses can be built on land at Coughton today, Wednesday, September 18th.

The site has a complicated history and many local residents have objected to the current plan to build these new homes. Walford Parish Council commented: "The Development goes against what our community has stated as its highest priority, the protection of the Parish's natural beauty."

Letters from objectors referred to the fact that the proposal is contrary to many planning policies particularly as the site is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

In 2004 a proposal for a building for the storage and repair of agricultural machinery was approved despite opposition from local residents. The main reason for approval was because it would provide employment for local people.
