A woman driving at Llancloudy, near Monmouth, was shocked to see two kittens running about on a busy road. When she stopped, she found there were three kittens but one had been killed. One of the two live kittens had serious injuries to its face and the lady rushed the pair to Abbey Vets in Monmouth. They stayed there for four days while the injured kitten was operated on for injuries to his jaw and nose and began to recover. Enquiries near where the kittens were found yielded nothing and the sad conclusion reached was that they had been dumped near the road.

Milly and Billy, as they have been called, are now looking for a new home.

The Vets asked Forest of Dean Cats Protection to take them and Billy has made a full recovery in the care of kitten expert Celia O’Keeffe in Mitcheldean. A great job was done by the vets as the kitten was so tiny and though he is missing a few first teeth, his adult teeth should come through soon. There was a large bill but Abbey Vets reduced it to £100, which Cats Protection paid.
