A Ross-on-wye Town Councillor, Chris Bartrum recently completed his 250 mile cycle around Herefordshire, paying a visit to each St Mary’s Church in the county.

Cllr Bartrum told the Ross Gazette that he ended up cycling to and from a total of 44 churches, which is two more than he had originally planned to do. He cycled for about 12 hours, over a consecutive six day period. “I had a lot of cups of tea and cheese on toast at strategic intervals,” Cllr Bartrum said.

He continued:“It was about 50% delight, 40% hard work, and 10% agony.”
