Councillor John Davies has resigned from Ross Town Council as he is now living abroad. This leaves a vacancy on the Council.

The Mayor, Councillor John Edwards, told the other councillors at Monday's Town Council meeting. He said: "Councillor Davies was Mayor twice and he has done a lot for the town, we are sad to see him go. The Town Clerk has put up a notice for an election. If there is no election we will advertise and co-opt a councillor, an election would be very costly, from £3,500 to £5,000."

Councillor Phil Cutter said: "If there has to be an election it would make sense to run it alongside the General Election."

Councillor Harry Bramer was in agreement. He said: "A General Election has to be called by June 3rd and we could have the election on the same day with no extra cost for a polling station."
