A YOUNG family in Ross-on-Wye have settled into their ideal home at a Platform Home Ownership development in the town.

Ross Jenkins and his partner Chloe have moved into the now completed Middleton Avenue development, where they are raising their young son, Wren.

The couple had previously been living with Ross’ parents when they realised they needed a home of their own and elected for a home with three-bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as an integrated kitchen, large living space and off-street parking.

The shared ownership scheme allows home seekers to purchase a share of their home and pay rent on the remaining amount, typically buying between 10 per cent and 75 per cent of the property’s full market value.

Ross said: “Platform were building homes in the absolute perfect place for us, in close proximity to both of our families.

“The sales team have made it feel seamless. They were holding our hands throughout the whole process. Since it was our first time buying a home, I had a million questions, and they were super kind and helpful in answering all of them.”

Chloe added: “Getting the keys the same day as we view the property for the first time and knowing the house was ours was so exciting. It still feels a bit surreal.”

“Within the first night of moving in it felt like our home - having our own space makes it feel like we’re proper grownups and it’s brilliant to have our own space to spread out and live life in. After our experience, we would 100 per cent recommend Platform to anybody.”

Vanessa Latty, sales consultant for Middleton Avenue said: “We are delighted to hear that Ross and Chloe have been so happy with their experience with us and have been loving their new home. Shared ownership is quickly becoming a more sought-after route onto the property ladder.”
