The year 1989 was a very special one for Robert Harris of Manchester and Susan James of Kilcot. It was the year when Rob took up his appointment as Deputy Manager of The Royal Hotel in Ross-on-Wye, the place where Sue just happened to be working as a waitress.

As in many good love stories, romance blossomed at work and three years later, they were married at Gorsley Baptist Chapel.

Recently they returned to The Royal with some of their family for a celebratory meal on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary. Here, they were able to share some of their memories of working together in the early 1990s.

Rob and Sue now live in Gloucester and are still actively involved with Gorsley Chapel. They also now have two grown-up children, Ashley, who is 23, and Rosanna, who is 20.
