A 65-year-old Ross-on-Wye man, convicted of failing to notify police who was driving a vehicle at the time of a suspected motoring offence in Devon, will face two further charges when he attends Cheltenham Magistrates Court for sentence in the New Year.

Antony Dowling, of Barn End, Lea, nr Ross, has been found guilty in his absence of failing to tell police who was driving a Ford Fiesta in Plymouth in June last year.

The magistrates adjourned sentence until 3rd February 2027 when Dowling will also appear on charges of using a hand held mobile phone while driving and failing to notify police who was the driver at the time.

It is alleged he used a mobile when driving a Mercedes car on Gretton Road, between Gotherington and Far Stanley, nr Cheltenham, on 15th August last year.

It is further alleged that he failed to give Gloucestershire Police information about the driver between 2nd and 30th Oct 2025.

He has not yet entered pleas to those two charges and will be expected to do so at the February hearing.
