A teenage girl has appeared in court accused of murdering her newborn son, when she was just 15-years-old.

Paris Mayo appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court this afternoon (Mon) charged with murdering her baby boy Stanley Mayo.

She is accused of murdering the infant in Ross-on-Wye, in March 2019.

She spoke only to confirm her name, age and address and that she understood the charge during the short hearing, which only lasted a minute.

Mayo, 18, of Ruardean, Glos, appeared via video-link from Hereford Police Station wearing a beige jumper and grey trousers.

She was remanded in custody to next appear at Worcester Crown Court either tomorrow (Tue) or Wednesday (6/4).

District Judge Simon Ralph, said: "You'll appear before a judge crown court within 48 hours.

"The hearing will be at Worcester Crown Court.

"This is a matter can only be dealt with at Worcester Crown Court. I suspect this will be tomorrow.

"You will be remanded in custody in the meantime."
