Monmouth author, Naomi Rettig, has just released her third book. Her previous two books were comedies but this new one, Universal Murder, is a crime thriller with a sci-fi twist. There is still humour in the book but it’s mainly a ‘whodunit’ murder mystery.
The novel is about Lexi King who has switched to a parallel universe and finds herself as chief suspect in her husband’s murder. Except she doesn’t have a husband, the other version of herself did. Lexi must eliminate herself from police enquiries, to avoid getting arrested before she can attempt to switch back to her correct universe. She is assisted by hospital porter Nathan who studies the phenomenon of parallel universe travelling. But will they be able to find the killer in time? And will Nathan be able to help Lexi switch back home to her universe?
Universal Murder is doing well in the Amazon charts and a sequel is in the pipeline.
Naomi said: "I’ve been asked by readers who enjoyed it if there will be another Lexi adventure, and I do have another murder in my head for her to solve so, yes, there will be a sequel. I’m not sure if it will be my next one though as I’ve already started on a project which is completely sci/fi fantasy, but it’s on my to-do list."
Naomi writes in whatever spare time she can find as she works at Dixton Surgery in Monmouth as a receptionist and is studying for a degree with the Open University.
