ROSS-ON-WYE is set to welcome cyclists who are affected by a cancer diagnosis of all abilities in September.
The Cancer Club hosts a community cycling event aimed at bringing people together in support of those affected by cancer.
The cycling event will be staged on Saturday, September 11 at 9am from Ross-on-Wye Market, with participants invited to join for a relaxed and enjoyable route through the surrounding countryside. Open to everyone, the event encourages both seasoned cyclists and newcomers to take part, offering an inclusive and friendly atmosphere.
This year’s event has been made possible with the generous support of the Card Factory Foundation, helping The Cancer Club deliver its mission of combining physical activity with social connection. The event follows the success of last year’s popular Tour de 4 ride led by Sir Chris Hoy, which inspired many to get involved in cycling for wellbeing and community spirit.
The Cancer Club is a national organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people living with and beyond cancer through fitness, friendship, and shared experiences.
It works closely with local groups, including the Ross-on-Wye Cancer Support Group, which provides vital emotional and practical support to individuals and families in the area.
In addition to the morning ride, participants and supporters are invited to attend a social gathering on Saturday evening—an opportunity to celebrate the day, connect with others, and further strengthen community bonds.
Organisers hope the event will not only raise awareness of the benefits of staying active after a cancer diagnosis but also encourage new members to join both The Cancer Club and local support networks.
The Cancer Club is a charity on a mission to make life better and easier for men with cancer and helps people to enjoy life and have fun by connecting them both in-person and online in supportive environments and through the medium of sport.
