The 2020 Daffodil Weekend in Kempley has been cancelled in line with the government’s latest COVID-19 advice.

Many of our volunteers are at risk and organisers say that they owe a duty of care to them not to place them at risk.

The event has been held for 35 years and is a critical event to raise funds for the maintenance of the village hall and St Edwards Church.

Many visitors know that most of their activities such as the organised walks, Daff & Ride Bus, Exhibitions and parking have been offered free of charge for many years.

Central to the event is their village hall, which is now in great need of funds for repair, maintenance and development if the team are to continue offering the event in future years.

Chair of the Midlands Centre of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, Martin Brocklehust, told the Ross Gazette: "It would be a great help if you would still like to donate to our on-going effort. You can do this by purchasing one of our programmes which contains articles and maps about our local area.

"Copies are available for £1 plus postage and packaging. If you require a programme drop an email to [email protected] and on receipt of payment a copy will be sent to you."
