More damage has been caused to the cricket pavilion at the Ross Sports Centre, which will unfortunately add to their increasing bills, Councillor Hannah Lerego reported to the Town Council at their meeting on Monday, September 11th.

Cllr Lerego said that the damage was not arson but due to an accident.

She added that dog waste is still a big issue with parents and coaches often having to clean up the football pitches before youngsters can train. The new barriers to the car park which are locked at night have deterred the boy and girl racers but she added:?“It is disappointing that some minor anti social behaviour persists.”

She praised the McDonalds Day held at the Sports Centre recently, which was attended by about 2,000 people. She said that the Sports Centre is very grateful to the groups and the Town Councillors who supported them.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
