Following the meeting which took place at St Peter’s Church, Peterstow, on the evening of Monday, August 5th, Highways England have today confirmed, Wednesday, August 7th, that they will be switching the A49 roadworks from daytime work to nighttime work on August 12th.
Residents met with representatives from Highways England, Herefordshire Council, Kier, and MP Jesse Norman’s constituency office, as well as Peterstow Parish Councillors, to discuss the ongoing challenges relating to the roadworks on the A49 earlier this week and one of the biggest issues discussed was the fact that the work was being completed during the day.
A Highways England spokesperson said: "It’s never easy to balance conflicting needs, but it was clear at the meeting that the vast majority of attendees were in favour of night time delivery. I’m therefore pleased to advise that we’ll be switching to night time work from Monday, August 12th for the remainder of the works."Work will begin at 9pm and finish at 6am, and there will be no restrictions on the A49 during the day. Unfortunately, there will be additional noise and lighting overnight that may cause some inconvenience to local residents, however please be assured that we’ll do our best to mitigate these."See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
