Tributes have been pouring in to the Ross Gazette for Alan Wood, founder of Wyenot.com and Wyenot News who passed away on Thursday, June 2nd after a short illness. Alan had become renowned for his work in promoting the town of Ross-on-Wye and the Wye Valley and he was proud to put the town he loved on the world map.
Jesse Norman MP said his death was a 'huge loss.' "Alan Wood was a wonderful man, who captured Ross-on-Wye in pictures in a way that has never been surpassed.
"His website Wyenot.com has long been the indispensable first port of call for any visitors to Ross, and stands as a great archive of local life over more than a decade. It was completely local and completely independent in its vision."
Alan developed a huge circle of friends through his work on his website and through facebook. One of the many people who have left comments on facebook is Laura Howells who wrote: 'Alan was one of the most inspirational people I have ever met in my life. Giant heart of gold and a credit to Ross-on-Wye.' Read the full tribute to Alan in this week's Gazette.
