A former teacher and Head of History at John Kyrle High School, Sue Vinall has died.

The headteacher at JKHS, Nigel Griffiths passed on the sad news of her death, which happened in the early hours of Sunday, July 2nd, to members of staff and governors on Monday.

Mrs Vinall was Head of History at the school until she retired in 2012. Charlotte Reynolds, Ross Gazette General Manager said: "I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs Vinall. Sue was my history teacher for many years at John Kyrle High School. She was such a wonderful teacher, with great passion and enthusiasm in lessons. I also remember her witty sense of humour. I would like to send my condolences to all the family. She will be greatly missed."

She leaves a husband, Brent, who was a deputy headteacher at JKHS, and two children, Stephanie and Jamie, who were also pupils at the school.
