Super slimmers from Ross-on-Wye have been awarded the title of Diamond Member of the Year 2017 for setting a sparkling example of long-term weight loss.

Jean, Roz, Angie and Kelly joined local Slimming World groups and have lost a total of over 11st. Even more impressively, they’ve kept the weight off ever since.

Angie (pictured) dropped 1st 7lbs, and is the Tudorville group’s Diamond Member 2017.

The title is awarded to the group’s most inspirational member who has lost weight and maintained their new shape, as voted for by the slimmers in the group.

Jean, 72, joined Slimming World for health reasons. She told the Ross Gazette: “When I first came to the group I found it hard to believe I’d ever reach my target weight, but by making simple changes I’m now 2 1/2st lighter! The support, tips and recipes from my group each week mean I’m happier, healthier and fitter than ever having been at target for nearly three years.”

Roz added: “Slimming World’s plan encourages slimmers to fill up on healthy, satisfying foods like fruit and veg, pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat and fish so they lose weight without going hungry. I’ve passed lots of healthy habits on to my family and friends too having maintained my weight loss of 2st for a year and a half.”

Having lost 5st 4lbs, the target she set herself, Kelly Williams continues to attend weekly, as Slimming World members who have reached their target weight attend group for free.

Kelly said: “I’ve made so many friends there, we always have a lot of fun sharing ideas.”

Sue and Debra, who run the Slimming World groups say: “We’re so proud of our Diamond Target achievers, I hope they inspire other people in Ross-on-Wye too.”
