Dear Editor,

I don’t know if you are able to help, but my ancestors were named Powle and started the booksellers and book binders who worked, from what I have been told, at the Man of Ross House in the centre of town.

My grandfather took over the business from his father, and I was told that the Ross Gazette was printed ‘in the back of the shop’.

The business was sold and my grandfather moved to Bristol, I am not sure of the date, but my mother was born in Ross in 1909.

I am doing some family history research and out of the blue was sent a recent copy of your paper dated 1 February this year by an ex work colleague who lives in Bishopwood, so thought I would contact the paper.
