The Headteacher of Brampton Abbotts Primary School has met with a local councillor in order to solve the problem of dog mess on the paths leading to the school.

Dan Brearey, who has been Head at Brampton Abbotts for just over a year, spoke to Councillor Richard Mayo this week in order to find a solution and help raise awareness of the problem.

Mr Brearey said: "Parents and children walk to the school on both sides of Brampton Road, coming from both directions, and dog mess is an increasing problem."

Mr Brearey is keen to find a solution because the presence of dog waste has already had an effect on parents and pupils using the paths.

He said: "It's especially noticeable when we walk the children down to John Kyrle High School for PE?lessons and we have to tell them to watch out for it and avoid stepping in it as we go along. Read the rest of the report in this week's Gazette.
