After a man, involved in a road traffic collision on Brampton Road on Monday, August 29th, drove away from the scene, the woman whose vehicle was damaged in the incident put out an appeal for information on social media for any witnesses to come forward.
Amanda Hurrell posted on the Ross-on-Wye Notice Board on Facebook that she had been travelling down Brampton Road, when the man, driving a mid-blue Volkswagen Passat, pulled out of Oaklands, and collided with the side of her vehicle.
She said that he failed to stop after this collision, and asked that if anyone witnessed the crash, or if they have noticed a vehicle matching his description, with damage to the front, to report it.
She told the Ross Gazette that this incident took place at 17.47pm on Monday evening. She added that the driver had put up his hand, after the collision, to acknowledge it, but then he drove away. Amanda said:?“I tried to find him but he’d gone! It’s absolutely disgusting.”
She added that she had sustained quite a bit of damage to her car. There was a fair amount of damage to the driver’s door, and lots of damage to the passenger door, and also to the back wheel arch and the wheel itself.
The incident has been reported to the police. A spokesperson from West Mercia Police confirmed that local officers were called at approximately 6.30pm on Monday evening to Oaklands.
They added the crash involved a Volkswagen Golf, and the other vehicle which did not stop.
