Things are looking up for two Ross Pubs owned by Enterprise Inns. The Eagle re-opened on Tuesday, and the Crown and Sceptre is being restored ready for a re-opening in a few weeks.
The Gazette wishes to make it clear that it was the management team at the Eagle who made the decision to close the Eagle on Monday, January 10th. There had been a number of crime and disorder related incidents at the public house and the police called for a licence review, which is still to take place in February, but the police did not take action to close the pub.
The Eagle is now open again but the Crown and Sceptre will remain closed for the time being, although there will be a caretaker on the premises to allow for cleaning work and any alterations.
Unfortunately the information given to the Gazette last week about the licence review at the Crown and Sceptre was actually about a pub with the same name in Bromyard.
The licence for the Crown and Sceptre in Ross remains in place.
