At approximately 2.30pm today, Saturday, February 17th a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Swansea, Wales, with tremors reaching Herefordshire and the south-west of England.
The British Geological Survey said “Event epicentre approx 20km NNE of Swansea, with 4.4 magnitude at a depth of 7.4km. Events of this magnitude only happen in the UK every 2-3 years.”
Many people took to social media to say they felt the tremor including Ross Gazette General Manager, Charlotte Reynolds, who said she felt her house shake but did not think anything of it at the time.
