Ross-based PGL, has been named as the Best Adventure Experience at the very first School Travel Awards. PGL was presented with the trophy by TV newsreader and journalist, Fiona Bruce.
Sarah Reynolds, PGL marketing manager, said:?“Thank you to everyone who voted for PGL, we are very pleased to be recognised in this way.
“We are delighted that so many teachers value the benefits of Outdoor Education for their students and we look forward to working with teachers in the future to ensure that students and teachers continue to have fun, learn and grow together.”
PGL’s head office is based on the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye at Alton Court. The location is significant, as it was on the River Wye that PGL’s founder, Peter Gordon Lawrence, launched his very first canoe trips in 1957.
Around 300 teachers, educational visit co-ordinators and school travel experts joined Fiona at a special lunch ceremony for the inaugural School Travel Awards at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London.
A total of 17 awards were made to recognise the amazing schools, inspiring people that champion learning outside of the classroom, best venues, attractions and companies as voted for by readers of School Travel Organiser magazine.
