Lea CE Primary School is celebrating the end of another successful year in all areas of school life.
In May the school had a visit from one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors working with Ofsted, who reported that: ‘The good standard of education has been maintained’.
“Lea C of E Primary School is a happy and vibrant place for pupils to learn and grow. A sense of community pervades the school. The level of care and guidance from staff, coupled with a broad range of enrichment activities, contribute well to pupils’ personal development.”
“At Lea, we try hard to develop the whole child, not only through quality teaching, but through a wide range of enrichment activities and this was also noted by Ofsted in a response from the children.
“Pupils shared with great enthusiasm how they enjoy going on different trips and taking part in the varied extra-curricular clubs. They particularly enjoy the drama, music and sports clubs, as well as taking part in competitive sport against other schools.”
The school trip to Barry Island was a lovely treat for the children to take part in sandcastle building, paddling in the sea, having a talk from the lifeguards and eating ice-cream.
The development of drama teaching across the school this year has been successful in building confidence in the pupils to perform.
Year 5 and 6 budding actors took part in ‘Friendly Matches’, directed by Drama Teacher, Miss Hutton.
