Pupils at Ashfield Park Primary School learnt about the woodlands around them while helping to create pieces for the River Festival.

Priormade visited the school and worked with Year 4 children. They made moving woodland art pieces (automata) that are part of the interactive festival performance: Heart to Hart. In addition, artist’s Becky and Faye, from Priormade, assisted the children to create small, magical woodland machines that represent the secret communication that happens underground.

Using games to learn other forms of non-verbal communication such as Morse code, and quizzes about the trees found in the area Priormade hoped to share memorable information about the woodlands around.
